Fatum, an insurance company with more than 200 employees, seriously considers the use of Open Source in their IT-environment. Open Source Software is an economically viable option, according to Perry van der Wolde, manager IT infrastructure at Fatum. OSS is often more stable and secure, and is much cheaper.
“The Open Source Seminar really opened my eyes, again”, says Van der Wolde, and promptly organized a presentation for the IT department. “In 2008 we introduced our people to Open Source and Free Software, and in 2009 we will start creating experience, so we will be well prepared for the future.”
